Seeing “Swerve.. the reeping of all that is worthwhile (Noir not withstanding)” everywhere. Which, you know, great! But… Am I alone in feeling that this one is, like, totally obviously the standout from Black Up?

“An echo from the hosts…” was my personal pick from Black Up, but it was a very close race between the first three tracks, so I feel you. The second half of “Are you” especially—“At a tender age, we learn to turn the page,” etc.—is flawless. I wonder if people gravitate toward “Swerve…” because it’s slightly more upbeat and wanders less than most of the other songs. It has the feeling of being hookier.
