Music Critic Fan Fiction:
The wind turned hot and dry as the few surviving music critics gathered on a scorched hillside to witness their undoing. Bits of ash fluttered past their faces. It had been a short but bloody battle and they’d lost a lot of good writers out there. Across the charcoal field littered with the skeletons of their fallen brethren, they could make out the silhouette of Carles against the base of the smoke-ringed volcano. He was on his knees, raising his clutched fists to the sky, and cackling with unnerving, maniacal joy. “We did it!” he crowed, his eyes red with malice, “We finally defeated language!! Once and for all!!!” Over his shoulder stood trialbygif, shrouded in a black cloak, silently surveying his new empire.
